At the age of 25, Walter achieved 18 out of 19 points and three Chef’s Hats in his own restaurant, Gasthof Post in Austria, before joining the triple-Michelin-star restaurateur Marco Pierre White as Head Chef of his restaurant group.
After growing up in Austria, Walter perfected his craft working in 2- and 3-Michelin-star restaurants around Europe.
In 2002, Walter moved to Melbourne, Australia when he was appointed Head Chef at Langton’s Restaurant and Wine Bar in Flinders Lane. During his time there, the Australian Newspaper voted Langton’s one of the top five restaurants in Australia. In 2011, Trupp Cooking School was established.
